而這個查爾斯來頭不小,是埃斯瑞弗蒙德侯爵的侄子,但是他不接受爵位,離開法國到英國去。他在倫敦靠自己當上了法文老師。

這部小說雖然后來是以“大團圓”結束，但是當我讀到卡頓為了露西而代替查爾斯上刑場時，我的心里充滿了辛酸。
