關于羅星塔還有一段凄美動人的傳說。相傳宋朝民間，有一們女子叫柳七娘，她為思念被地主逼出海打漁的丈夫，而變賣家產建造此塔后天天登塔盼望丈夫回來，最后憂憤而死，所以羅星塔又稱“磨心塔”，這個傳說真讓我們感動啊!
羅星塔還有更高更深遠的意義呢!它矗立于茫茫大海邊上，為過往的船只指引了方向，曾經成為世界航海的標志，又稱為“中國塔”，也成了馬尾的代稱。
