原來我們的衣服都是一周洗一次，放在全自動洗衣機里，我就不用管了，但是自從決定低碳生活以后，我一般都是每周洗三次衣服，晚上回家吃過飯后邊洗澡邊洗衣服，沒有幾件，很快就洗完了。老爸說：“我的白襯衫又看見本色了”。因為我不用洗衣粉，只用洗衣皂，用搓板搓，比較臟的領子處多搓幾下，衣服很是干凈透亮，家里沒有了大堆二堆的衣服，屋里也顯得干凈整潔了。
原來我每次洗碗都用流水洗，因為總覺得盆里洗碗麻煩，但是現在我都是吃過飯后將碗用開水煮一下，然后用水在洗一下就干凈了，也不用帶著手套用洗滌靈洗了，碗干凈了，也沒有了洗滌靈的味道了，手也保養得很好，沒有化學制劑的腐蝕了，既環保又衛生，一舉兩得。何樂而不為呢。
原來家里陽臺上都是堆著亂七八糟的，一般很少處理。現在我已經在陽臺上養起了鮮花，我家的君子蘭、蟹爪蓮、迎春花每年都開花，花期還很長，使我又多了一項向朋友們炫耀的資本。去年我還學會了無土栽培芽苗菜，快到春節了，我在陽臺上養起了豌豆苗、蘿卜苗等蔬菜，每天澆水，也不用施肥，只要溫度適中，就能吃上放心的無污染的蔬菜。我從中受益匪淺，每天早上，覺的嗓子不像那樣干了，有一種清香的味道，使人醒來精神氣十足。既美化了陽臺又凈化了空氣，既滿足了自給自足，還有送朋友的份，在春節將芽苗送與親朋好友，大家都很喜歡。
