讀過后，我仍不大理解，在片刻沉思后。才漸有所悟：
精神是肉體的支柱，有些人雖仍活在世上，卻只是行尸走肉。受人唾罵。相反之，有的人雖已死去上百年，然而即使再過上千萬，他(她)的精神依然永存于世，受到世人的敬仰。
在墮落的人中，也有從新“洗清”自我的人。書中男主角聶赫留朵夫，就是一個從純潔無邪的少年，在經歷了軍旅生涯后，墮落一時，最后終于在精神上恢復了自我。這又體現出了當時俄國政治的腐敗。
