霍爾頓是明智的，是聰明的，他看透了社會(huì)的本質(zhì)。他的樸素和善良，是他所在的年代很少的，雖然他的有些思想還比較幼稚，雖然他有許許多多的缺點(diǎn)，但他反抗現(xiàn)實(shí)、向往美好世界的純潔的一面是不可忽視的。
