      Lesson 13 My Beautiful Doll (First)

      Teaching contents:

      1. Sentence structures: Let’s play with my ….

      She is ….

      She has ….

      2.New words: doll, beautiful, is, long, blonde, Teddy bear, bear, dinosaur

      Teaching objectives:

      1. In this lesson, the pupils learn to use a polite order by “Let’s play with my ….”

      2. And they can also use the phrases “She is ….”and “She has ….”to describe the toys the children are playing with.

      3. The pupils can master the eight new words of this lesson: doll, beautiful, is, long, blonde, Teddy bear, bear, dinosaur ( Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing )

      The assay of teaching objects:

      Being new beginners in learning English, the pupils have deep interest. They are all curios about English. The Grade Three pupils are very active. They like playing very much. In this lesson, they will learn the names of different kinds of toys that they are playing with, and learn how to describe the toys. The plentiful materials of toys will fulfill the pupils’ strong will of learning and using the new knowledge.

      Teaching train of thoughts:

      In this lesson, there are a lot of new words and a few new sentence structures. The pupils will have troubles in learning these teaching contents if they learn them all by the teacher. So I ask the pupils to join in the creation of this lesson. I order them to take their lovely toys back to school. In this lesson, the pupils learn the new contents with their familiar toys. The procedure in the creation of the lesson help the pupils to master the contents of this lesson easily and quickly.

      Teaching difficult points:

      1. The skillful grasping of how to use this sentence “ Let’s play with my ….”to ask a polite order.

      2. The good master of how to describe the toys the children are playing with by these two sentences “ She is ….”and “She has ….”

      3.The four skills of mastering the new words: doll, beautiful, is, long, blonde, Teddy bear, bear, dinosaur

      Teaching aids:

      cards, tickets, computer and CD-ROM, TV, pictures, real artcles.

      Teaching procedures:

      1. Preparation: Daily greetings.

      2. Revision.

      Count from number one to fifteen.

      1) Look at the teacher’s hands and count.

      2) Look at the cards and spell the words.

      3. Presentation.

      1) Write down and read the title:

      2) Tells the pupils about the main ideas of this lesson, and the main contents and objectives of this period.

      3) Open the books and listen to the tape for several times, which to show and to help the pupils to understand the whole lesson.

      4) Show a picture of a doll to the pupils, and present the word “doll” by the old sentence “ What is it?”---- Write down ,read and practise the word.

      5) Present the word “doll” in the new sentence “ Let’s play with my ….”---- Write down , read, and practise.

      6) Show the pictures and real artcles of a dinosaur, a Teddy bear, and a bear, teach these new words in the sentence “ Let’s play with my ….”---- Write down ,read and practise the words.

      7) Read and practise the words and sentence.

      8) Check out.

      9) Turn back to the pictures and real artcles of a beautiful doll which has long blonde hair and a beautiful dress, teach the pupils to describe the doll by the sentence “ She is beautiful. She has long blonde hair and a beautiful dress.”

      10) Teach the new words “ is, beautiful, long, blonde ”---- Write down, read, and practise.

      11) Take out the pictures and real artcles of a dinosaur, a Teddy bear, and a bear to take the turns of the doll.---- Write down the main sentence structures “ She is …. She has ….”

      4. Consolidation.

      1) Read and spell the new words.

      2) Read the sentences and practise in groups.

      3) Act the dialogues out, and check out how the pupils understand this pariod.

      4) Tell the pupils the story of the Teddy bear, which to help them to understand it more clearly.

      5. Summary.

      1) Listen to the tape.

      2) Sum up the contents and objectives of this pariod.

      3) Homework.
